The
Flaws in the Kate Timmons PlatformIn her first statement, she proposes a database of minors that will keep track of underage citizens to prevent illegal sales of tobacco and alcohol. How this would be effective, I don't know. She claims that this program will let store owners check who they're selling to. We already have a system for that. It's called checking IDs. Supporting a "catalog" of underage civilians would surely rule out the Right wing vote (Big Government is Bad Government in their opinion).
She is also Pro Life. Apparently Kate likes shooting herself in the foot. She has already set up a platform that alienates the Right Wing, but now she's cut off most of the Left Wing too. Now you can say, "Hey, Mr. Crandon, what about the Centralists!?" If you think that there are a lot of people out there who want Big Government who are Pro Life, you're wrong. More often than not, you'll find Pro Choice people who want less government in the center.
Maybe the political climate will change by 2016, but most likely not enough to give Ms. Timmons a rat's chance in hell of winning.
